I switched to NCIS and Leverage and am much happier for it. SG-1 was a good series for a while, but it did tend to overshoot in the later seasons and I ditched it. Space, Above and Beyond is the one I wanted more of.

Hey its just my opinion, but to give you an idea there's not very much on TV I like at all. I like The Fringe and I really want to like 24 but I can't quite get there this time, too much of the same old same'o but I will continue to waste that hour each week because I can play wow at the same time or do other things on the computer.

i don't know why? macgyver tried to solved problems without violence jack O'Neil prefers his nice big shiny guns!!! there is no similarities!! (except how they look ) I'd say SG-1 was fantastic up to about season 7-8 after that yeh I'd agree they were getting a bit thin to keep with the metaphor but Atlantis was there and they almost rekindled some new Life in the the whole Stargate Franchise even though at first when you see the paralells between shepards team and O'neils team its kinda weird but atlantis really grew on me just as much as SG1 but then the writers were struggling and it was cut short at 5 seasons with too many unanswered questions. although i do hear there is to be an atlantis movie just dont know how that will go. just i dont see where this stargate universe is going, i want to enjoy it because i'm a big stargate fan and there is a proper scotsman in it... but right this min i just cant say its even growing on me.. i'm hoping by the time we catch up with you i will start from what i seen they got the charicters and the setting for a brilliant show (even if i dont think it fits the stargate "norm") but so far i'm not seeing anything develop and i would say thats more to the writers and producers lack of imagination

really? jeez and I thought it was a stretch when the very first TV series was started. They took, IMO, a pretty good movie, that maybe had a sequel in it, and turned it into a cash-cow joke. For me the storyline was “like too little butter spread over too much toast”. Or maybe I just couldn't get past "MacGyver".

I have to reserve judgement for now...they are getting a little more complicated and 'cerebal' than the original Stargate series...kind of like what "Star Trek The Motion Picture" was to the series. Not sure if I like it yet. The storyline is going in all directions like they are not sure how to write for this yet. I am going to chalk up the first season as a feeling out period and hope they can settle things down and get some direction for the next season.

sorry if i double posted this here guys but its kinda new to us brits.
i only seen like 5 episodes now and i cant help but feel stargate is going down the BSG road. i have always loved stargate because its a sci fi based now and it went away from the general big sci fi's like star trek and star wars (which i still like dont get me wrong) where its happening through this great big ring rather than on ships. i accepted when they brought ships into the series on earths side cause lets face it if we ever wanted to win we would need to destroy theirs. but universe being based solely on a ship i just feels goes away from the stargate norm that i watched it for. maybe the guys in the states will be different if anyone has watched the new series but to me it just leaves things hanging, i'd have prefered them to finnish atlantis a bit better. lets face it the wraith are still there, there is the possibility of the replicators coming back cause they are only frozen in the vastness of space, and there is that small faction of asgard. plus has anyone got the story of the furlings? do any of them still exist? but rather than going back and answering the questions the raised they seem to have went out and made soo many more. whats your guys take on it?
