You are correct, but so was Lucky the night before you.
I am curious how you figured it out Spyder. I know the missiles (with their orange backends) date the picture to a great extent.
The way the pod was setup... when the doors are closed the pod still hangs out.

Its odd that after they deployed the F-106 as an Interceptor (to engage enemy bombers) with no gun, they added one later when it was realized the value of a gun (1972). The F-4 introduced about the same time (1958 for f-4, 1959 for f-106) was also deployed without a gun and later added as a gun pack and then internal.

It's the weapon's bay for an F-106 Delta Dart.  Search took about 7 minutes, and the Aim-4 missile was a good clue.

Vulcan M-61 under the belly of a F-106. It took the place of the Air-2 Genie missle in the rearward bay.
